Kota, renowned as India’s premier hub for competitive exam preparation, has introduced a groundbreaking initiative, “Kota Cares,” aimed at redefining student welfare in the city. Launched by the Kota District Administration in collaboration with the Kota Students Welfare Society (KSWS), the initiative was inaugurated during the Kota Mahotsav, with the presence of District Magistrate Dr. Ravindra Goswami and key stakeholders, including coaching institute directors, hostel association members, and local citizens.
The initiative, inspired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, seeks to transform Kota into a model city for holistic student well-being. It aims to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for the over 2 lakh students who arrive in Kota annually to pursue their academic dreams. Kota has earned the trust of more than 30 lakh students and parents over the past four decades, contributing significantly to the nation’s pool of doctors and engineers.
“Kota Cares” brings together a coalition of local police, government departments, coaching institutes, educators, hostel owners, and residents to foster a nurturing ecosystem for students. The initiative focuses on three key pillars: Community Engagement, Enhanced Support Systems, and Cultural Transformation. These pillars will be implemented through a range of programs, including stakeholder training, holistic support services, resource development, and storytelling campaigns to inspire students and their families.
With the support of the District Magistrate’s office, the initiative aims to reduce dropout rates, improve mental health, and enhance student satisfaction. “Kota Cares” is poised to not only elevate the student experience in Kota but also serve as a model for other cities across India, contributing to a self-reliant and inclusive educational ecosystem.
