Which part of the problem you are trying to solve?
According to a survey conducted by Standard & Poor’s, over 76% of Indian adults lack basic financial literacy and do not understand key financial concepts. It is also a widely known fact that only 2 per cent of India’s population is currently engaged in any formal financial instruments (excluding banking). We realized that the underlying problem of poor financial literacy leads to under-penetration of formal financial products leading to poor wealth creation. Thus, we decided to build the complete ecosystem of financial management that would guide a user to learn, analyze and participate in various financial products the right way.
Kredent InfoEdge started catering towards this goal through scientifically designed courses through the venture Kredent Academy, set up in 2008. As an extension to increase our retail reach we forayed into online finance education in 2015 through portal Elearnmarkets.com, that offers over 100 e-learning courses in finance and has trained more than 150,000 learners till now. Elearnmarkets offers various career-oriented courses with joint certification with NSE Academy, NCDEX and MCX and expert-led boot camps, seminars and webinars.
How do you see the fintech industry in India and its job perspective?
A head full of numbers understands finance like no other. Unlike old days where a degree in finance made you eligible only for maintaining books of accounts, finance skills are now more in demand than ever before. This can be attributed to the growth in the BFSI sector and increasing interest of people in myriad financial investment options.
Career choices in finance have increased manifold over the past few years. Thanks to the disruptive forces in the financial services sector and the advent of startups that are advancing ahead with new financial technologies, the employment landscape of financial professionals have greatly increased.
Are your courses are updated as per trends and requirement for the clients? What exactly you look for to improve the user experience?
Our courses are very practical in nature. It’s our standalone courses which we have defined as per the trend and requirement and NSE has to certify these courses. We have courses which are basically designed by industry experts so those are very practical and even NSE took time to evaluate our modules and finally certified it.
