The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024, aimed at encouraging students from economically disadvantaged families to pursue higher education. This initiative provides cash incentives to talented students and is set to benefit those who have completed their 10th grade, Intermediate, or Diploma in the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have secured a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized educational institution. The scheme covers a wide range of courses, including Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, Vocational courses, and ITI programs. It provides a financial boost to students looking to further their education, with cash incentives designed to ease the financial burden.
The scholarship application process began on December 8 and will continue until December 22. Students can apply online through the official LIC website, www.licindia.in. The scheme also includes a special provision for girl students, with a dedicated scholarship for them. Scholarships will be awarded for two years, ensuring continuous support for deserving students.
In terms of financial assistance, medical students can receive up to Rs. 40,000, engineering students will be awarded Rs. 30,000, and graduate students will receive Rs. 20,000. However, applicants must meet certain income criteria: the annual income of their parents should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh. Students receiving scholarships from other trusts or organizations or enrolled in part-time or open university courses are not eligible for this scheme.
This initiative aims to make education more accessible to students from underprivileged backgrounds and provide them with the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams without financial constraints. For further details, applicants can visit the official LIC website.
