Mangalore University will be beginning a five-year integrated law course at the university campus in Mangalagangothri in the coming academic year.
Vice-chancellor professor K Byrappa told to media sources that said a law faculty will be created for this purpose. Those who have passed PU are eligible for the integrated law course.
Eight years ago, colleges offering law courses in the Mangalore University jurisdiction had disconnected themselves from Mangalore University in order to get an affiliation from Karnataka State Law University.
The university has set its budget for the law course and earmarked an amount of Rs 80 lakhs for the academic session 2018-19. The regulations for the course are being worked out still.
