Medly AI, a pioneering EdTech startup founded by two former NHS doctors, has secured $1.7 million in seed funding to advance equitable access to personalised education. The investment round was led by Eka Ventures, with additional participation from Ada Ventures.
Founded by Dr. Paul Jung and Dr. Kavi Samra, Medly AI aims to bridge the gap in educational inequality by making high-quality, tailored learning accessible to all students, regardless of their financial background. Drawing from their own experiences growing up in low-income households, the founders have developed an innovative platform that integrates AI, neuroscience, and traditional teaching methodologies. Medly AI’s features include real-time exam paper marking, interactive question-solving, adaptive learning tools, and AI-driven personalised tutoring.
Since its launch, Medly AI has already supported over 10,000 students in enhancing their GCSE performance. Its adaptive approach ensures that learners receive individualised support to strengthen their academic skills. The startup has also garnered institutional backing, receiving grants worth £400,000 from partners including UCL, Innovate UK, Microsoft, and Google. Eka Ventures had previously invested £1.2 million in the company, reinforcing confidence in its transformative impact on AI-driven education.
With the latest funding, Medly AI plans to expand its AI-powered tutoring platform, further developing its offerings for GCSE and A-Level students.
