Mercedes-Benz India on July 17, 2018 signed an MoU with the Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET) and the Krishna Institute of Engineering & Technology (KIET) in Delhi. The collaboration marked another example of joining hands between the academia and industry.
On the occasion Santosh Iyer, Vice- President – Customer Services, Retails Training and Corporate Affairs, Mercedes-Benz India; Dr O P Agarwal, Managing Director, NIET; Raman Batra, Executive Vice-President, NIET were present.
The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) program is part of Mercedes-Benz India’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which was propagated among students with the help of educational institutions. The Mechatronics Training School at Mercedes-Benz India was inaugurated in 2006 with the goal of providing trained service personnel and engineers.
The program would invite about 20 students per batch. The company asserted that more than 500 students have successfully finished the program since the beginning and have been employed within the Mercedes-Benz India dealership network. The Mechatronics program also provides support to Mercedes-Benz India’s plant at Chakan, Pune.
