In commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversaries, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a Swachhata Campaign under the theme “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata” at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education (DoHE), led the initiative alongside other senior officials and faculty members of the college.
The event included the planting of five trees under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign within the college premises. Participants, including NSS volunteers, local representatives, and social workers, cleaned a designated area near the Satyaniketan bus stand, promoting cleanliness in public spaces.
Shri K. Sanjay Murthy encouraged the local community to maintain cleanliness and assured the college’s continued support for such initiatives. He also motivated students to actively engage in future drives and addressed their queries regarding the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Students shared their learning experiences from their involvement with the NSS, emphasizing the importance of community service in their education.
