The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced a key change to the NEET-MDS 2025 exam pattern. This year’s exam, scheduled for April 19, 2025, will feature mandatory time-bound sections, as part of NBEMS’s efforts to enhance exam security and integrity.
According to the latest notification, the NEET-MDS 2025 question paper will be divided into two parts:
-
Part A: 100 questions, with 75 minutes allotted
-
Part B: 140 questions, with 105 minutes allotted
Candidates must complete each section within the designated time. Once the time for a section expires, they will not be able to go back to review or change their answers. The next section will begin automatically after the time for the previous one ends.
Time-Bound Format Introduced Across NBEMS Exams
The move to introduce time-bound sections is part of a broader policy by NBEMS to implement this structure across all its computer-based multiple-choice exams. These include:
- NEET-MDS
- NEET-PG
- NEET-SS
- FMGE
- DNB-PDCET
- GPAT
- DPEE
- FDST
- FET
This initiative aims to maintain the sanctity and fairness of the examination process in light of increasing security challenges.
Demo Test Available from April 9
To help candidates familiarize themselves with the new format, NBEMS will provide access to a demo test on the official NEET-MDS 2025 application portal starting April 9, 2025.
