The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that the NEET PG 2025 exam will be held on June 15, with the eligibility internship completion deadline set for July 31, 2025. Each year, around two lakh MBBS graduates appear for NEET PG to compete for approximately 52,000 postgraduate seats across India.
In a separate move, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued strict directives to medical colleges to combat ragging. The NMC has called for the implementation of robust anti-ragging measures as per the 2021 Regulations. Medical institutions are required to establish Anti-Ragging Squads, ensure awareness of anti-ragging policies among faculty, staff, and students, submit annual reports, and create a safe learning environment. The NMC raised concerns about the growing number of ragging cases, including mental harassment and suicides, reported through its Anti-Ragging Cell, UGC Helpline, and media sources.
