The much awaited new academic session may start in universities from September and the already-enrolled students might begin attending from August, the UGC told varsities.
The admission process in universities will begin from August 1.
The commission also suggested that the final end semester exams could be conducted in July, looking at the numbers and condition of COVID-19.
The exams could be either conducted online or offline keeping in view the support system available with them.
UGC said, “The lockdown period may be considered as “deemed to be attended” by all students and if situation demands the universities can have summer vacations for 30 days in June.”
“Intermediate Students will be graded based on internal assessment of the present and previous semester. In states where the COVID-19 situation has normalized. there will be exams in the month of July.”
“Universities may follow a 6 day week pattern and come up with a proforma to record travel or stay history of staff and students for the lockdown period.” Extension of 6 months will be granted to MPhil and PhD students and viva voice can be conducted through video conference.”
