Registration for the National Law School Admissions Test (NLSAT 2026) is now live on the NLSIU Bengaluru site, nls.ac.in. Candidates have until March 23 to submit applications.
Scheduled for April 26, 2026, the test will take place across the country in a single session, running from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
Applicants may select from an array of programmes: 3-year LLB (Hons), NLS BA (Hons), 2-year Master’s in Public Policy, or PhD options in law, social sciences, humanities, and public policy.
This year’s entrance test follows a pen and paper format, with a 150-minute window. The paper splits into two segments: Part A covers comprehension, current affairs, and critical reasoning; Part B focuses on legal aptitude, reasoning, and analytical ability.
Fees for registration are structured at Rs 2,500 for general category candidates. Those in other categories will pay Rs 2,000. The evaluation method: each correct response adds 1 mark, while 0.25 marks are subtracted for any incorrect or unanswered item.
For the LLB (Hons) course, the intake cap for 2026-27 is set at 120. Entry is strictly limited to those passing the entrance examination. For ongoing announcements and detailed instructions, the NLSIU official website hosts the most current updates.
