Admission to agricultural and allied courses will be given on the basis of the performance in the admission test to be conducted by NTA. The admission test will be for AIEEA (UG), (PG) and (PGS) Degree programmes. NTA will conduct this exam on behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Soon, NTA will release the notification for the admission test in these courses. The notification for the admission test will be out on 1 April. The registration process will start from 1 April and will end on 30 April. The date of the admission test is 1 July. Registration can be done in the online mode only.
15% of UG seats and 25% of PG seats in agricultural universities are filled by the entrance exam conducted by the ICAR. On the other hand, the admissions to some deemed to be universities are completely based on this entrance exam. The point to note is that there are two separate exams for admissions to the UG programme and PG programme.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been given the responsibility to hold exams for JEE, UGC NET, Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), CMAT and JNU entrance exams. The exam conducting body came in force in 2017. It is an Indian government agency that has been approved by the Union Council of Ministers. Vineet Joshi is the first Director-General of NTA. It has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.
