The cyclone Fani has started to show its fury all across the state of Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has written a letter to the President, Prime Minister and Union HRD ministry of the country requesting them to postpone NTA NEET exam as there will be difficulties in the states due to cyclone Fani.
The cyclone will impact some states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha. It will be difficult for the students to reach the exam centres during the impact of the cyclone.
The cyclone has made much destruction in the states and basic infrastructure like roads, electricity etc. In this case, it will not be possible for the students to concentrate on their exam for which they have waited for long. The letter has been sent to postpone the exams in the time of intense difficulty in the states.
The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled to be held on May 5, 2019 in various centres across the country. However, NTA is likely to announce changes in the exam centres in Odisha due to the severe cyclonic storm Fani.
Around 15 lakh students are appearing for the NEET 2019 competitive exam this year for admission to the different medical courses in India and abroad. Candidates appearing for the NEET 2019 are advised to download their revised admit cards that carry the details of their updated exam centres or venue, address and the code.
There are seven centres in Odisha for NEET 2019. The centres are Angul, Balasore/Baleswar, Behrampur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur. Candidates should keep in mind that no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without a Valid NEET admit card. Also, when the candidates download their admit cards, a pdf copy of their admit cards will also be sent to their registered email id.
