Following a letter from Ranoj Pegu, the Education Minister of Assam, to the National Testing Agency (NTA) about providing examination centers in Barak Valley for the CUET, the NTA has revised the assigned centers for certain students in Assam.
According to the updated schedule, the May 29, 2024 exam for Bengali (104) and Environmental Studies (307) in Silchar, Assam, will now be conducted in a pen and paper (OMR-based) format.
These candidates are advised not to travel outside Silchar, Assam. New admit cards will be issued soon on the official CUET UG 2024 website: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.
However, this opportunity is available only to candidates who chose Silchar as their examination center but received an admit card for another city due to logistical reasons. Additionally, candidates who have already reached the city specified on their current admit card may appear for the CBT mode examination on May 24, 2024.
NTA declared that all affected candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to ensure they can appear for their exams.
Pegu noted that having only one exam center for the CUET in Silchar is causing problems for students from his state, as they have to travel to distant locations for the CUET UG 2024.
