The Odisha state government is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with tech giant Oracle which will set up an academy in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
Speaking at the Make in India Conclave, Odisha’s IT Minister Chandrasarathi Behera said, “The state government in collaboration with Oracle-India is setting up of an Academy in Bhubaneswar to offer a complete portfolio of computer science education resources to secondary schools, technical, vocational and two year colleges and four year colleges and universities to help students be industry ready.”
It is said that such an initiative is need of the hour since the performance level of students of some of the Engineering and Management students remained below satisfactorily level.
Also, the IT sector of Odisha received Rs. 3918.95 crore from six companies during the Make in India conclave.
