The Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) has announced the opening of applications for multiple vacancies across various departments. Eligible candidates can apply via the official website, odishapolice.gov.in. The final date for submitting online applications is February 10, 2025.
The recruitment drive will fill 609 positions for Sub-Inspector of Police, 253 for Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed), 47 for Station Officers in the Fire Service, and 24 for Assistant Jailors. The OPRB has urged applicants to submit their applications well in advance of the deadline to avoid any technical issues, such as heavy traffic on the portal. The notice states: “Applicants are advised, in their own interest, to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date.”
To be eligible for the Sub-Inspector and Assistant Jailor positions, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. For the Station Officer (Fire Service) role, candidates are required to possess a degree in Science or Engineering from a government-approved institution.
The recruitment process does not require an examination fee for any category of applicants. Admit cards for eligible candidates will be available for download approximately one week before the written exam date, which will be announced on the official website.
