Osmania University is planning to come up Innovation and Incubation Centre and a Centre for Telangana Studies among the other infrastructural facilities during the ensuing financial year (FY) of 2018-19.
Presenting a deficit annual budget for the FY 2018-19 on Saturday to the members of the academic senate, Prof R. Nageshwar Rao, Dean and Faculty of Management, said an expenditure of Rs 686.77 crore was anticipated as against Rs 623.59 crore of income during the FY.
He said nearly 20 per cent of the expenditure with Rs 135.46 crore was earmarked for infrastructure facilities, construction of centenary buildings and other related works. Besides, the establishment of colleges in Siddipet, Jogipet, Narsapur and transfer of funds to the Secretary, BOC, and IUT was among the others proposed, he said.
He said the University will approach the State government for the sanction of additional grants as the block grant allocated to the University for the year was not sufficient.
Adding, the University planned to construct new academic blocks at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore, new residential buildings for the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, new buildings for UFRO, Model High School, and Nizamiah observatory at Japal Rangapur observatory at an estimated cost of Rs 30.50 crore.
