Several candidates have demanded the postponement of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), and have now filed a petition regarding the same. This is because other entrance examinations like Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), and Common University Entrance Test (CUET) are also scheduled within a couple of days of NEET. With vastly different and voluminous syllabus for each exam, the mental stress for students has increased.
This stress has already claimed the lives of 16 students, all reportedly suicides. This petition, filed by advocate Mamta Sharma, is going to be heard by the bench comprised of Justice Sanjeev Narula in the Delhi High Court today, 14th July. The NEET exam was scheduled to be conducted on the 17th of June, Sunday, across 497 cities in India.
