The Nexus of Good Annual Awards 2024 celebrated transformative initiatives driving societal progress, recognising 21 exemplary individuals and organisations across governance, education, and sustainability. Inspired by the Dalai Lama’s belief that “The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness,” the awards aim to inspire replicable socio-economic models.
Among the honourees, Bengaluru-based Prayoga Institute of Education Research was awarded for its Kriya programme, an innovative science education initiative transforming learning across Karnataka. Dr. H.S. Nagaraja, Prayoga’s Founder and Chief Mentor, accepted the award at the PHD House, New Delhi.
Kriya’s inquiry-based approach has impacted over 7,000 students and 200 educators in 65 schools, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills. The programme’s reach spans rural, economically disadvantaged, and private schools, setting a benchmark for experiential science education.
Anil Swarup, Chairman of the Nexus of Good Foundation, conceptualised the awards to highlight and replicate effective societal solutions. The initiative aims to counter negativity by amplifying positive stories. Reflecting on the recognition, Dr. Nagaraja expressed gratitude, emphasising the collective efforts of educators and communities in shaping the future of education.
The Nexus of Good movement envisions a collaborative platform to scale impactful initiatives, offering an alternative narrative to pessimism prevalent in public discourse.
