Reliance Jio’s 42nd Annual General Meeting on August 12 announced special free benefits for startups, small and medium business. A startup can start registering on the jio portal after the commercial launch on Sep 5th, 2019.
Jio will launch free cloud service and connectivity infrastructure for the upcoming promising startup. Jio & Microsoft have collaborated to provide the digital foundation to the organization in need, many new cloud data centre will be launched. Jio will also bring out Azure cloud services in collaboration with Microsoft.
Jio will absorb 70% of the cost for setting up cloud infrastructure and invested around 14 technology solution for the startup. “Jio is a startup built in India for India and we have a special place in our hearts for startups. You may know 80% of the cost of running a startup goes towards cloud and connectivity infrastructure,” Ambani said during his 42nd AGM speech.
“I urge all startups to register for their custom-designed package on Jio.com and this service will be available from Jan 1, 2020. We will also financially invest and support those startups which have the potential to address India’s big needs in agriculture, healthcare, education and skill development,” he added.
Ambani called the bedrock of the economy for the support to the budding entrepreneurs. All monthly digital services will start from Rs 1,500. He also added, “To run their business, a bundle of connectivity, productivity, and automation tools costs a micro and small business between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 per month currently. For a similar service, customers abroad pay over $1,000 per month. Today we are taking the bold step of giving these applications along with our connectivity to small businesses for one-tenth the cost.”
