All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) organized Takniki Patyhya Pustak Award ceremony on its campus today. This is an important step towards implementing the recommendations of Official Languages Act and to impart technical education in English. The programme started in 1998 and the organization has been felicitating authors every year since then. Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and Dr Satyapal Singh, Minister of State, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The chief guest, Dr Satyapal Singh awarded the prominent authors who wrote textbooks for degree, diploma, and ITI programmes in the field of technical education.
The first prize of Rs 1,00,000 was awarded to Prof. Shyama Charan Prasad for his book ‘Anurup Electronics’. The author of book ‘Web-Designing’, Dr S. S Srivastava got the second prize of Rs.51,000. Devendra Kumar Khare and Dr Jawahar Karnavat received Rs.31,000 jointly as the third prize for their book ‘Aadhunik Banking Siddhant Avam Vyavhar’. Dr Sangeeta Saxena also received the third prize for the book ‘Vastra Avam Paridhan Nirmar ke Mooladhar’.
In the category of diploma books, Dr. I.C Bharti received first prize for the book ‘CAD-CAM’. Dr. Pankaj Jain received Rs. 31,000 as second prize for his book ‘Vipran Prabandhan’ and Shivanand Kamde received Rs.21,000 for his book ‘Drav Abhiyantriki Avam Dravchalit Machine’. The category for ITI/Technician didn’t receive any entry. Therefore, no prizes were distributed in that category. Chairman of AICTE, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe said that the council has awarded Rs.25,00,000 as a prize money 100 authors in last seven years.
This year, a total of Rs.3,16,000 was awarded to eight authors in the programme. The MoS, MHRD also inaugurated the AICTE website in Hindi. The website in Hindi will be fully functional in Hindi from today. Vice-chairman of the council, Dr. M.P Punia added, “Different programmes conducted by Government of India to encourage technical education will now be available in Hindi on this website.”
