According to a statement given by Jindal Global University (JGU) which says that they have launched a report on improving higher education quality in India. The report which is named as “Diversity and Inclusion: Towards Building a Diverse, Equitable and Global University”, which highlighted its progress on the indicators which are around 16 such as
- National origin
- State origin
- Gender parity
- Age
- Religion and caste
- Education and professional background
- Disability
- Academic offerings and interdisciplinary
- Pedagogy
- Research and disciplinary diversity
Apart from the above, the other indicators are:
- International collaborations & partnerships
- Governance & leadership
- Student financial inclusion
- Inclusive teaching & learning
- Gender identity & sexual orientation
- and Community outreach & engagement
Professor Virandar S. Chauhan who is the Chairman of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) while releasing the diversity report stated the multiple challenges for higher education institutions in attaining reasonable progress on indicators of diversity and inclusion.
