Scaler, a leading tech education provider, has announced a strategic initiative to address India’s AI talent shortage by training over 3,000 AI engineers by 2027. The newly launched Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) upskilling programme is designed to equip mid-level and senior professionals with cutting-edge AI expertise to meet the increasing demand for skilled talent.
With reports highlighting a significant shortfall of qualified AI professionals in India—less than 2,000 senior engineers possessing advanced AI skills—Scaler’s initiative seeks to bridge this gap. Studies indicate that only 2.5% of Indian engineers have substantial AI expertise, impacting the country’s ability to compete globally in fields such as machine learning, NLP, and data science.
The AIML programme offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to industry needs, covering Generative AI, MLOps, and Reinforcement Learning. Learners will engage in 50+ real-world projects, with hands-on experience facilitated by partnerships with companies like Clario, Consuma.ai, Aganitha AI, and Researchify.io. The programme integrates mentorship from seasoned AI experts, including former engineers from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, ensuring participants gain both theoretical and applied knowledge.
Scaler’s initiative not only enhances employability but also strengthens India’s AI ecosystem by producing professionals adept at solving complex challenges. With structured industry collaborations and placement support, the programme aims to cultivate the next generation of AI/ML Engineers, Research Scientists, and NLP Specialists.
