The overuse of mobile has reached to a stage where both kids and youth are getting badly affected according to a report by American Academy of Paediatrics.
The academy recommends a maximum limit of sixty minutes screen time for 2 to 5-year-olds and no screen time at all for anyone who is younger than 2 years.
It has been found that the young children get less sleep and less focussed on excessive use of mobiles. It has been also reported that for every quarter of an hour the child uses a smart device, they lose an hour of sleep.
Dr. Catherine Birken suggested in one of her statements that the phenomenon has become so addictive that more research needs to be done in this area.
The research has also recently got a new name called Screen Dependency Disorder.
Physical : Weight loss or gain, Insomnia, Headaches, Poor nutrition, Eyesight problems, and Poor nutrition
Mental: Anxiety, Loneliness, Guilt, and Dishonesty
Another interesting point that is to be noted is that these behaviours or side-effects can also be noted when the mobile gadget is withdrawn from the affected person.
As such, the adverse impacts are to be carefully dealt with.
