Philosophy is definitely a good starting point, and Objectivism, as a philosophical school that values individualism and rational self-interest, certainly can be a good base. It confronts the individual with reality and sets an ideal to strive for.
The American philosopher and author Ayn Rand developed this philosophical approach, rooted in individualism, reason, and the pursuit of happiness. It emphasizes rational thinking, personal responsibility, and the pursuit of one’s values. By embracing these principles, individuals can overcome obstacles, discover their unique strengths, and create a life guided by reason and driven by purpose.
As emphasized, this philosophy system is applicable in everyday life, as well as personal development. How so? Objectivism highlights individualism – urging individuals to exercise independent thinking and pursue their unique aspirations and principles. This aspect matches well with self-improvement by encouraging people to discover and accept who they really are. Furthermore, the philosophy of Objectivism argues that we should primarily use reason and logic to understand reality better. When we use reason in personal growth, we think critically, reflect on ourselves, and make choices based on facts and reasonable thinking.
Personal responsibility is a really important aspect of Objectivism as a condition for living a fulfilling and moral life. Individuals are responsible for their own actions, choices, and the consequences of those choices. This perspective is rooted in the belief that each person has the capacity for rational thought and can, therefore, make informed decisions about their own life.
Identification and pursuit of one’s own values are important, beneficial, and desirable. In Objectivism, these values are reflected in reason, purpose, and self-esteem, and their corresponding virtues are rationality, productiveness, and pride. These (personal) values are crucial because they are seen as necessary for individual happiness and well-being. It is a moral imperative – people have a fundamental right to their own life, and the pursuit of their values and rights should be respected by others.

John Galt School in India is organized by the Ayn Rand Center Europe in collaboration with Students for Liberty India and is funded by the generous support of the Prometheus Foundation. In the past year alone, the program was implemented in 30 countries, with 737 graduates.
Ayn Rand Center Europe is a nonprofit organization founded in 2016, originally known as the Balkan Objectivist Center. Their main programs include the John Galt School and the annual NICON – New Intellectuals Conference. By expanding their influence and activities, they quickly earned and adopted a new name and became the hub of European Objectivism – Ayn Rand Center Europe. This transformation allowed them to meet the needs of a larger market, all thanks to the successes they achieved, partners who shared the same vision, and a cooperative team that has grown year by year.
