The Republic of Slovenia has announced scholarship opportunities for Indian students for the 2025–26 academic year, aimed at supporting short-term mobility programmes. The scholarships will be valid from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, with a maximum award period of 10 months.
The Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) will administer the application and evaluation process. Detailed information, including the application form and eligibility criteria, is available on the official Study in Slovenia website . The application deadline is set for 30 June 2025.
These scholarships are open to university and college students, graduates, and PhD candidates wishing to pursue a part of their studies or research at Slovenian higher education institutions. However, they are not applicable for full degree programmes.
Applicants must meet specific age criteria: those applying for study stays must not turn 26 before the scholarship period ends, while research applicants must be under 30 years of age. Proficiency in Slovene is required for study stays unless otherwise agreed upon with the mentor or supervisor.
The scholarship benefits include a monthly stipend of €400 (subject to revision), free accommodation in student dormitories, subsidised meals through the Student Organisation of Slovenia, and basic medical insurance for non-EU applicants if no bilateral agreement on healthcare exists.
It is important to note that the Ministry of Education, Government of India, does not partake in the nomination or selection process; the final decisions rest with the Slovenian authorities.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to consult the full notification on the Study in Slovenia website for comprehensive details.
