Tanveer Sait, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister, said that the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) will be announcing the results for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations 2018 in the first week of May. The results can be accessed online on the official website on the same day of their announcement. Results would also be available through third party websites. The respective schools will have the published results the very next day.

Regional dailies claim that the results will be declared on 7th May, 2018 but as of now, there is no official update on the matter.
The conduction of the examination began in March, 2018 and ended on 6th April, 2018, across 2,817 examination centres throughout Karnataka. It was held in two sessions, with the forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. There were a total of 33 subjects this year.
About 8.5 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations. Out of this total, 10,86751 candidates were debarred for their involvement in malpractices while 2.73% candidates did not appear for the examinations.
The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board came into being in 1996 and has hence been holding the SSLC and other examinations. The system of Secondary education in the state of Karnataka is regulated and supervised by this board. It takes under its threshold several activities like that of devising courses of study, syllabus prescription, exam conduction, granting recognition to schools and other such methods and programs.
While addressing a press conference, the minister added, “Starting next year, a separate examination board will conduct the SSLC and second PU exams.”
The Karnataka 2nd PUC results will come out in the last week of April. More than 6,90,000 candidates sat for the examination. 23,980 evaluators and 53 new evaluation centres were placed for the process of assessment. Supplementary examinations are to be held in May, after the declaration of the results in April.
