St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, recently welcomed education agents and school counselors from India and around the globe to its campus as part of its Familiarization Program. The initiative provided an in-depth look at SGU’s medical curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, and student-focused resources, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of the university’s offerings.
During their visit, the delegates experienced a day in the life of an SGU medical student. They explored the university’s cutting-edge medical facilities, including simulation and anatomy laboratories, clinical exam rooms, a sonogram room, and the campus security center. The tour highlighted how SGU’s programs and training tracks are meticulously designed to prepare students for the demands of real-world medical practice.
Beyond academics, the visitors toured the university’s student-focused amenities, such as the fitness and wellness center, health services clinic, and accommodation halls. This gave them a broader perspective on SGU’s dedication to student well-being and holistic development.
David Anthonisz, Executive Director of International Student Recruitment at SGU, emphasized the importance of the program. “The SGU Familiarization Program is essential for showcasing our facilities and providing education agents and school counselors the opportunity to interact with academic staff. These tours are meticulously designed to offer a first-hand experience of what SGU provides—both inside and outside the classroom—and demonstrate how our curriculum equips students with the critical skills and knowledge needed for successful medical careers,” he said.
The delegates were highly impressed by SGU’s infrastructure, programs, and safety measures. Abhinav B. Gogoi, one of the attendees, shared his thoughts on the experience: “SGU has an impressive level of campus security on and off campus, and I felt assured about the safety of students. My initial reservations were quickly addressed, and I was deeply impressed by the university’s infrastructure, qualified staff, and dedication to student well-being. The hospitality and warmth shown by SGU staff made me feel at home, offering reassurance for students and families considering SGU for their medical studies.”
