The Government is playing a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of a new education framework that will help in successfully catering to the demands of the future
New Education Policy Draft 2019 clearly highlights the importance of Life lessons equally to classroom lessons. The new policy highlights the importance of industry-based skill empowerment which aims to address the current skills gap in terms of what the students are taught in academic institutions and what they are expected to do in professional environment. It points the need to inculcate a creative and innovative thinking approach to success in the 21st century. It also proposes a new National Educational Technology Forum and induction of new-age technologies such as online learning platforms; AI-driven customized learning solutions, video-based learning, peer-to-peer learning, etc.

What is your vision of perfect Indian Education system?
In the past several years, every industry has experienced a boom of digitalization and so are academics. Institutions have rapidly started betting big in technologies like 3D Printing, artificial intelligence, innovation labs etc. Our education system has moved away from the traditional practices of teaching through textbooks and memorizing concepts. Now, the emphasis is more on practical and tactical learning which aptly projects our vision of perfect Education system.
Also, in the future, academics alone won’t lead individual on the path of the success. It will be life skills such as morals, values and holistic development that will help students to achieving their desired goals. The competitive environment demands the strength and ability to see things beyond rather than good grades and high percentages.
Keeping all these needs in mind, Sharda University has curated industry specific courses to make students corporate ready which includes specialized courses in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), CS-Cloud Computing and virtualization Technology with IBM, BBA (entrepreneurship) and Bakery Sciences & Technology with AIBTM.
The University also provides students access to various social and activity clubs to unleash their talent to the world. Students join these clubs as per their choices to fulfill their life.
What steps are taken to arm students to face competition?
In today’s changing global scenario, it has become mandatory to equip the students with right blend of practical and theoretical exposure to make them leaders of the tomorrow. We set a benchmark in the Indian education ecosystem with faculty, world-class teaching modules and rich curriculum. We ensure students participation in career enhancement activities through exchange programs, student enterprise, volunteering and work-based learning. We strongly focus on holistic development of the students as it improves the overall personality of the students and help them to face not only academic challenges but overall life challenges.
We also aim at the enrichment of students by educational initiatives that encourage global outlook. We create an environment where students and employees of diverse backgrounds live, study, learn, and socialize together and encourage pursuit of knowledge and support the development of curriculum from global perspective. We also invest in faculty development to upskill them in designing and developing curricula, pursuing research, and offering experiential learning.
Recently, we have been awarded with prestigious the ‘Internationalization of Indian Institutions’ award at the ASMA Annual Convention & Awards 2019 – an award for excellence, setting global benchmarks and making India as a global destination for education.
We have also leveraged our expertise in the International Market by opening our first campuses Uzbekistan. We have ventured healthcare domain by opening Sharda Hospital and plan to expand our footprints in international markets in this domain also and will continue to strive further to achieve more and more excellence across various streams in the future towards overall betterment of the society.
