India is a democratic nation, but we have our doubts regarding the same and so does Jaggi Vasudev universally revered as Satguru. With the country nearing its elections, and as the atmosphere proceeds to heat up especially within the academic campuses and amongst students, it is important that the citizens and especially the youth of the country are guided in the right direction.
Basing his talk on the criticality of the situation, the admired spiritual leader spoke to the students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University during the ‘Nehru Memorial Lecture’. In his speech Satguru said that students should debate on issues, however should refrain from taking sides. He also pointed out towards the country becoming “ideologically divided”.
The spiritual leader spoke on variety of issues, right from education to monogamy, and democracy to artificial intelligence. In response to one of the student’s questions on how to remain neutral in JNU which is a politically vibrant campus Jaggi Vasudev said, “This has become a phenomenon across the country. If you open your mouth to say something about the nation they will try to fix you to some ideology. Inevitably someone is trying to pin you on some board. Unfortunately, this is how you are destroying a democracy.”
unfortunately divided like that for decades but that was not there in India.
However, in the past 10 years or so, everyone started belonging to some party. This is destruction of democracy. Three months before elections, one should start evaluating whether they have done something. You must evaluate according to your intelligence. There is enough information available to help you do that”.
The spiritual master urged the students to stay away from taking sides and said that by doing so they would destroy democracy and create a feudalistic society.
Through his lecture Satguru not only enlightened the youth sitting in the hall and interacting with him, but also millions of others who chose to follow the path of truth, honesty and spirituality
