On building Texila
While we are constantly looking out for best practices in the field of education, a well-equipped infrastructure with excellent facilities is pivotal. Starting from scratch, we have now built a strong team of professionals who have been able to contribute greatly to Texila’s development. This ensures that no student feels alienated to our global system and feels just at home while receiving a standardized education. Taking Texila to the next level Taking Texila to the next level
On success
Success is a seed that only sprouts with time and patience. To see the vision of Texila come to life has truly been the harvest of a planned purpose, sincere efforts, and deep dedication. While receiving a medical degree has long become overrated, our goal is to capitalize on students who are zealous about transforming the society they serve and that is the passion we seek from our applicants. With an initial batch of just seven students, we have now expanded our operations and campuses across the globe and several projects are still in the pipeline.
Favorite books
Many books have taken me aback and in awe. Some of them are, ‘A Monk who sold his Ferrari’ by Robin Sharma, ‘Connecting the Dots’ by Rashmi Bansal & ‘Winning’ by Jack Welsh.
Best moments of your life
– The opportunity to start medical university in Guyana
– Expanding into a campus in Zambia has given us the courage to broaden our reach across nations
– Partnering with the University of Central Nicaragua (UCN) for global recognitions for our Postgraduate and Distance learning programs
Inspiration
From the spiritual side, books of Swami Vivekananda was absolute inspiration. One of my first mentors and a person I consider Guru is Dr P R Krishna Kumar, an Indian Ayurvedic Physician and the Founder of the AVP Research Foundation. The basics he taught me is what I follow to this day.
Changes you wish
Education has become a casual commodity to most of us who are blessed beyond measure to truly value what is bestowed onto us. There are thousands of kids who don’t have access to education. I wish for the world to be able to provide every child with an education that will undeniably empower and enlighten nations across the globe.
Biggest strength and weakness
Weakness I have many, strengths a few. I always try to play on my strengths rather than brood over weakness. I would count strategy creation and execution as my biggest strengths and running day-to-day operations as my weakness. To complement my strengths and strengthen my weakness I have a highly effective team to back my efforts and be my support system. It is also very synergetic as the operations team is led by my better half Chithra Lakshmi.
Message to youth
There is no substitute for hard work and consistent efforts. It will always lead to success. Stay focused on your goals and it will never disappoint you. While you may face hurdles along the way, remember that there is a hidden message behind every failure. Make the most of what you are given to learn from life and convert these obstacle and failures as stepping stones to learn and grow.
