The Telangana government has been inviting applications from the Scheduled Caste (SC) students for overseas scholarships. Applicants whose family income is not more than Rs 5 lakhs per annum from all sources are eligible to apply for the overseas scholarship. The official website is telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in and the last date to register online is March 31.
The candidates would be shortlisted for the overseas scholarship as per merit. As per the official website, registration of application is not entitled for benefit/grant of scholarship under the scheme. The selection of candidate would be based on fulfillment of the prescribed guidelines and in case of over and above registrations against the intake, the selection would be done based on merit only.
The Telangana overseas Scholarship has been available to only those students who have been accepted by an education institution in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. It would include a grant up to Rs 20 lakhs or as per the admission letter, whichever is less. It would also include a one-way economic ticket and visa charges. Only one child from a family would be eligible for the scholarship.
