Delhi University (DU) is set to hold its Centennial (100th) Convocation Ceremony on February 24th, with the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, gracing the event as the chief guest. Professor Yogesh Singh, the Vice Chancellor of DU, is overseeing the event, where degrees will be conferred upon 138,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students who graduated in 2023. At this event, three books will also be released.
In preparation for this historic event, Delhi University is implementing several noteworthy changes. The Vice-Chancellor revealed that alterations to the convocation attire are underway, with students expected to adhere to a traditional Indian dress code. Moreover, modifications to the degree design have also been introduced. Special provisions have been made for attendees, allowing one family member to accompany them, with arrangements made for their meals.
At Delhi University’s 100th convocation, a total of 207 medals and awards will be conferred. Among them, 173 will be gold medals accompanied by certificates, while the remaining awards will consist of certificates. The count of Ph.D. recipients is around 650, while the Degree recipients sum up to 138,020. Among them, 130,697 are undergraduates and 7,323 are postgraduates, with 58,545 males and 79,475 females.
