The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar recently organized their annual cultural festival ‘Blithchron’ in a hybrid mode. The event took place online on 19th March while the offline event took place on the following day, March 20th. Students were all geared up to celebrate the festival and create new memories in the campus. The event was organized completely by the students. Around 130 students helped organize this event.
Blithchron introduced students to a plethora of events and also let varied artists across the country showcase their talents. This was among the few offline events that were held on campus after the pandemic started.
The event had a variety of events taking place in the hybrid mode. For example ‘Skirmish’, a competition to check the BGMI scores of students, ‘Reverb’ an EDM competition, ‘Antaragnee’, a street play, and ‘Quizzitch’ a fandom quiz.
Other than these, there were several other competitions like, dance competitions, poetry slams, singing competitions, photography competitions that kept the event going. Students could participate in them and earn rewards.
Students from across the country participated in the event and stayed over at the IIT Gandhinagar campus. The event came to an end with the EDM and DJ night, inaugurated by the talented ‘Vice and Virtue’ followed by the act by DJ and producer TEJAS. More than 1500 participants registered for the event and had visited the IIT Gandhinagar campus on the day of the main event.
