As per September 2018, Naukri JobSpeak Index, there was a rise of 9% in the hiring activity, as compared to September 2017. Of which the Auto/Ancillary industry noted a rise of 39% as of the same date.
What was even more remarkable was that, hiring activity for leadership related roles, for leaders with around 16 years of experience rose by 16%. The rise marked a positive hiring sentiment across most of the metropolitan cities of India. The statistics showed Kolkata beaming with a rise by 24% and Chennai with 14% respectively.
“Post an impressive 17 percent growth in August, the Job speak Index has grown by 9 percent in September. Good to see the index surging ahead across all the cities. Apart from Non-IT sectors viz. Auto, Auto Ancillary, Real estate, Construction & Insurance even the IT sector has been showing slow and steady growth over the past few months. With the festive season around the corner, we can expect the index to move further north in the coming months,” said the chief Sales Officer of Naukri.com, V Suresh.
The Automobile was not the only industry though that saw a rise in the hiring structure, sectors like Industrial Products/Heavy Machinery, Construction/Engineering, FMCG, Oil and Gas, BPOs and Insurance also saw a raise in the total percentage.
