The Design Village (TDV) has organised ICANI Industry Mixer, 2 days flagship event that hopes to jumpstart the Creatives movement for the region. The event aimed to bring seasoned professionals and aspiring students together to establish an unbiased forum of discourse.
Tushar Kaladharan, mentor and facilitator at The Design Village, said “The developing world needs a new direction in design education and the seeds are being sown right here at this unique community of designers, makers and deliberators, for a brighter tomorrow. The ICANI Industry Mixer is an incubated effort to expand their avenues. ”
The 2-day events featured a mix of multidisciplinary professionals from a variety of fields like advertising, mental healthcare and the diverse segments within the design industry. The students opened up to a more pragmatic dialogue on positioning, jobs, internships and fears of exploitation, choosing a stream or being interdisciplinary. Furthering the jubilation was a live performance by a music academy as an extension of our ethos.
Akarsh Goel (Alumni & UX Designer) Said “The participation, spirit and energy was commendable. I loved coming back to my alma mater, watching it grow and flourish. The iCANi felt like a beautiful start to something that has the potential to grow into something historic to the college’s history.”
Faculty members of The Design Village gave an official closing to the event with a session about their journeys beyond academics.
