The Ministry of Education in India has issued an official notice that intends to make the students aware about the fake websites that have come up in recent times. These websites have been created to dupe innocent students, read the official notice.
“It has come to the notice of the @EduMinOfIndia that in order to dupe innocent applicants several websites have been created with a name similar to the schemes of this department,” read the tweet.
The fake websites have been created with the names very similar to the government schemes, which makes it easier for the fraudsters to propagate their scheme. The scheme they have released is, ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’ whose official websites are samagra.shikshaabhiyan.co.in and shikshaabhiyan.org.in
These fake websites are duping candidates by offering fake job opportunities. Apart from this, the layout and aesthetics of the fake websites have also been created to match those of the real websites. Their content and presentation are also similar which makes these fake websites more believable. In this way the people behind these fake websites have been extorting money.
“While these websites have come to the notice of the Department of School Education and Literacy, there may be more such other websites/social media accounts promising jobs and demanding money for recruitment processes. The General Public is, hereby, advised to avoid applying for job opportunities on such websites and to ensure themselves that the websites are authorised by visiting the official website of the concerned Department/personal inquiry/telephone call/e-mail to safeguard their own interest. Any person applying on these websites will be doing so at his own risk and cost and shall be responsible for the consequences thereof,” stated the official notice.
