Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), a part of IIT Kharagpur has recorded 100 per cent recruitment during the final process for the passing out batch of 2018.
The class consisting of 111 students had received 126 offers by the last interview session, as confirmed by IIT KGP statement released on May 8, 2018. The average pay scale offered to the students was of Rs. 16.29 lakh per annum and the midpoint was around at Rs 14.76 lakhs per annum.
ITC Ltd, Titan, Amazon, JP Morgan, CRISIL, HSBC, Accenture Digital, PwC, Trafigura, Google, Spencer’s Retail, JusPay, Wipro, Schlumberger, General Mills and other 68 corporations were present during the placement, which also included 23 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).
The Dean of VGSOM and the Co-Chairperson of Placements Committee Professor PrabinaRajib said,
“100 per cent placement was possible due to the calibre of the students, the faculty and the reputation of the institute.”
IIT KGP’s Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) was ranked among the top ten management schools in India by the Human Resource Development Ministry’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) this year.
Several companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Puma, Dalmia Bharat, Capillary Technologies, VLCC, Valmont, Halma Group, Nomura and Trident Group also visited the VGSOM campus for the first time.
The average stipend and median registered for Summer Internship 2018 was Rs 99,500 and Rs 89,300 which equals to a raise of 15.12% and 31.32% respectively. The maximum international stipend was Rs 6,30,000 and highest domestic stipend was Rs 2,96,300. Firm recruiting for Summer Placement 2018 were primarily in the Sales and Marketing, Operations, Consulting, Retail, Analytics, Finance, and General Management sector.
Prabina Rajib, the Dean of the school and the Co-Chairperson of Placements Committee accredited the results to “The calibre of the students, faculty, and the rich reputation of the Institute.”
Data analyst, product management, strategic analyst, financial analyst, operations manager and marketing manager were some of the positions in demand.
