Google India Proposes Programme during Summer Holidays
Google India has initiated a new educational programme for children as well as parents for the summer holidays. Google will assign one task every week for four weeks, which will include use of various Google products like Google Earth, Google Translate and Google Arts and Culture. As part of its ‘#SummerWithGoogle’, the corporation will present a range of activities to keep teenagers occupied throughout their summer holidays, Google India’s Director of trust and safety, Sunita Mohanty, expressed.
Rajasthan, AP, Kerala Bags Top Ranks in NEET
Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala have achieved the top ranks in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) examinations. The results for which were announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Rajasthan accounted for the highest qualification rate with 58,738 candidates from among 79,057 clearing it, Kerala’s and Andhra Pradesh’s qualification rate was 66.74% and 72.55% respectively.
IIT BBS Receives 35 Girl Students under Vigyan Jyoti Programme
IIT Bhubaneswar greeted 35 girl students of eleventh standard from science stream from different parts of Orissa to motivate them to pursue higher education in the field of science and technology. In this programme is being organised by the IIT Bhubaneswar under Vigyan Jyoti programme, funded by department of science and technology (DST) of the Central government. A scholarship of Rs 5000 will be given to the participants after the completion of the program.
Kerala Defers Reopening of Institutions till June 12
Kerala government on June 2, 2018 had decided to defer the re-opening of educational institutions in Kozhikode till 12 June, besides postponing all exams, except those carried out by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).However, the interviews being conducted by the state public service commission have been delayed. Sixteen persons have lost their lives so far to Nipah virus (NiV) in two districts of the state since the confirmation of the deadly virus on May 17. This decision was taken by state Health Minister K K Shailaja and additional Chief Secretary of Health Rajeev Sadanandan.
Rajasthan Students Secure Top 4 Positions in CLAT
Rajasthan bagged the top four positions of CLAT 2018. The candidates were Aman Garg (AIR-1), Devansh Kaushik (AIR-2), Anmol Gupta (AIR-3) and Gunjan Jadeja (AIR-4) amongst 63,000 examinees across the country. The top three students are from Jaipur and the fourth rank holder from Jodhpur. This is the second consecutive time that an examinee from Jaipur became first. The toppers are set to study together for five years at the National Law University in Bangalore.
