Every step I walked on a sharp stone, found a hand beneath my feet,
Every time I felt cold, a protective warm air blew to cover me up,
Every-time I felt alone, a distant far away voice caressed me,
Every time I lay clueless on a puzzled path, a way-out was provided.
What do you call them? Are they miracles of god? I believe god is no-where but assures his presence by creating wonders out of our confused lives. How ungrateful are we to search for better luxuries such as a lucrative incentives, high end costly cars, latest technology gadgets, designer dresses and so on, while happiness just stands at a handful of distance from us.
The truth is that the real joy is always free of cost. The affection of people around us, free gifts of nature, love from family is what that makes our lives wonderful. They shield us from all kinds of worries, pains and pressures.
As a testament of such happiness, I wish to recite a story of a rich boy who meticulously points out the differences between his family and the poor family staying at the other side of the road. He tells to his father after his careful observation. “Well, we have only one dog, and they have four. In our garden there is a pool, while they have a river that has no end. We’ve got expensive lanterns, but they have stars above their heads at night. We have only a small piece of land, while they have the endless fields. We buy food, but they grow it. We have high fence for protection of our property, and they don‘t need it, as their friends protect them.”
The father was stunned. He could not say a word. This story shows that the true wealth as well as happiness is not measured by materials things. Love, friendship and freedom are far more valuable.
Remember, real happiness has no measurement. It can’t be bought, weighed or sustained for a longer period of time unless the happiness truly belongs to us. Let us start embracing the immediate happiness we have got, rejoice and thus help the world bloom and shine.
