Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements to be considered for the apprenticeship. The bank specifies that candidates must be either:
* Indian citizens, or
* Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or
* Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
* Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and various East African countries (including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam), with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Additionally, candidates must be aged between 20 and 28 years as of **October 1, 2025.
Training and Stipend Details
The apprenticeship programme has a duration of one year, starting from the date of the contract. During this period, apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000.
However, the stipend structure includes a government subsidy of Rs 4,500, which will be directly credited to the apprentice’s bank account via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. UCO Bank will pay Rs 10,500 into the apprentice’s account monthly, and apprentices will not be eligible for any additional allowances or benefits.
Local Language Requirement
To ensure that apprentices can effectively communicate with local customers, candidates applying for vacancies in specific states must demonstrate proficiency in the local language of that state. This includes skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the regional language.
Working Hours
The daily training hours for apprentices will align with the working hours of the bank’s clerical staff. This ensures that apprentices gain a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s operations and culture during their training period.
