The UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) between December 9 and 23 in 2018. NTA will be holding the University Grants Commission’s NET along with other exams including JEE Main, CMT, NEET (UG) and GPAT.
The eligibility criterion for the candidates aspiring to appear for NET examination is attaining at least 55% marks in the masters or equivalent examination from a UGC-recognised institute. However, only 50% marks would be required for OBC, SC and ST to sit for the exam.
The UGC NET paper will consist of two objective-type question papers and each question will carry two marks. Paper-I will be general in nature which would assess the teaching and/or research aptitude. While Paper-II will be conducted on the respective subject selected by the candidate. The total duration of the exam will be 3 hours and will be for 300 marks.
Mode of exam will be computer-based. The registration starts on September 1, 2018 and will be completed on September 30, 2018. The candidates can download the admit cards from November 19, 2018. The results will be announced on January 10, 2018.
