The UGC released an instruction to allow universities to conduct final exams by the end of September.
The decision came after Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in a letter to the Union Higher Education Secretary permitted the universities to conduct final term examinations.
The statement read, “The final Term Examinations are to be compulsorily conducted as per the UGC Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities and as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) approved by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”
The UGC had asked the committee whether or not exams should be conducted with students facing many difficulties.
The committee now has agreed upon to conducting exams.
According to an official, the UGC was favourable to conduct the exams — especially the final year exam. The mode of the examination however has to be decided. It might either be online, offline or blend between both.
Accordingly, the students and teacher fraternity will plan the schedule with respect to the exams.
