In celebration of its 125 years of academic excellence, the University of Birmingham has unveiled a range of scholarships for Indian students pursuing postgraduate taught (PGT) Master’s degrees. These scholarships, aimed at supporting deserving candidates, will provide funding between £4,000 and £5,000 for courses commencing in September 2025.
More than 50 scholarships will be awarded, with the selection based on academic merit. The application deadline for these scholarships is May 2025. According to the University’s official website, the £4,000 awards are open to all eligible international students starting their studies in September 2025. Indian students specifically have the opportunity to secure awards of up to £5,000.
Scholarship Details
£4,000 Awards:
– Available for most PGT Master’s programmes, except MSc Management, MSc International Business, MSc Marketing, and MBA.
– No limit on the number of scholarships.
£5,000 Awards:
– Exclusively for high-achieving Indian students through the India Chancellor’s Scholarship programme.
– Open to all Master’s programmes, including business disciplines.
– Awardees will be shortlisted based on academic merit.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must:
1. Apply for and receive an offer to study a taught Master’s degree at the University of Birmingham’s UK campus for the 2025/26 academic year.
2. Be domiciled in one of the eligible countries, including India, Chile, Kenya, Ghana, Pakistan, and others.
3. Be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition purposes.
4. Enrol in a full-time programme starting September or October 2025.
Application Process
Candidates meeting the criteria for the £4,000 scholarship will automatically have this amount deducted from their tuition fees. No separate application is required; students simply need to confirm their place by paying the admission deposit within the deadline specified in their offer letter. For the India Chancellor’s Scholarship, applicants will be shortlisted after submitting their applications.
