The University of Delhi (DU) has released the first round of seat allocations for undergraduate programmes for the 2024-25 academic year. This year, DU will admit students to 69 colleges, departments, and centres, offering around 71,600 seats across 1,559 programmes and college combinations.
The admissions process, governed by the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS(UG)), saw 2,45,287 applicants, with 1,85,543 completing the second phase by submitting their preferences. The university received a total of 1,72,18,187 preferences.
Shortlisted candidates must accept their seat allocation by August 18, 4:59 p.m., and submit their fees by August 21, 4:59 p.m., to remain eligible for subsequent rounds of seat upgrades. The new dashboard feature will allow students to view cutoffs and ranks related to their seat allocation, though the common rank, not just the CUET score, will ultimately determine admission.
Additionally, the university noted that while candidates with identical CUET scores might have different ranks, the common rank—determined by tie-breaking rules—will dictate seat allocation. Performance-based programmes and certain supernumerary quotas will not have generated ranks.
