The University of Manchester has introduced several scholarships for Indian students. These aim to support bright candidates pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Over 230 merit-based master’s scholarships will be available in 2025, offering financial assistance through tuition fee reductions.
Global Futures Scholarship
This scholarship is open to international students, including those from India. It applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Undergraduate Eligibility:
- Applicants must be fee-paying students domiciled in India.
- They must hold a conditional or unconditional offer from the university.
- Scholarships are available for students enrolling in the School of Social Sciences, School of Environment, Education and Development, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, and Alliance Manchester Business School.
- The application deadline is April 10, 2025.
- Successful candidates will receive notifications by April 30, 2025.
Postgraduate Eligibility:
- The university offers 230 merit-based scholarships of £8,000 each to South Asian students.
- Awards are based on academic merit and scholarship application quality.
- Students can access the application form only after applying and receiving an offer.
GREAT Scholarship 2025
The University of Manchester, in collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, offers the GREAT Scholarship. This provides £10,000 for eligible Indian students enrolling in one-year master’s programs within the School of Arts, Languages, and Cultures.
- Open to Indian students starting their studies in the 2025–2026 academic year.
- Applications close on April 24, 2025.
- Results will be announced by May 30, 2025.
Humanities Postgraduate Scholarships
This scholarship awards £10,000 based on academic merit. No separate application is needed.
- Provides funding for one year.
- Open to Indian students paying international tuition fees.
Manchester Humanities International Excellence Scholarship
Self-funded Indian students can apply for this scholarship. The amount awarded depends on tuition fees:
- £2,500 for programs with tuition fees up to £28,000.
- £5,000 for programs exceeding £28,000, including courses at the Manchester Institute of Education.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be domiciled in India.
- They must hold an offer for an eligible program.
- Academic entry requirements must be met or exceeded.
- The scholarship is only available for self-funded students.
Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute Taught Masters Scholarships
This scholarship offers £14,000 to students enrolling in select programs in September 2025.
- Available for students studying MA in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response and MSc in International Disaster Management.
- Open to all nationalities.
- Candidates already receiving full scholarships or bursaries for September 2025 entry cannot apply.
