Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the final result of Civil Services Exam 2017 on its official website: www.upsc.gov.in
Hyderabad examinee Anudeep Durishetty topped in the exam.
“I am really happy to get this result today. I am grateful to all the people who supported me throughout. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I am happy to be here,” Anudeep said.
Anudeep completed his schooling in Sri Suryodaya High School and intermediate in Sri Chaitanya Junior College, then did his BTech from BITS Pilani in Electronics and Instrumentation in 2011.
He is a 2013-batch Indian Revenue Services officer, posted with the Customs and Central Excise. Anudeep was awarded the best officer trainee in the IRS batch during the weapons training programme at NISA Hyderabad. His interest lies in football and Artificial Intelligence.
Anu Kumari is ranked second and Sachin Gupta secured third rank.
Optional subjects of the top 25 candidates in the examination varied from Anthropology, Commerce & Accountancy, Economics, Geography, Law, Maths, Physics, Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, and Malayalam Literature.
9,57,590 applications were submitted, of which 4,56,625 sat for the exam. 13,366 candidates qualified for Mains exam held in Oct-Nov, 2017. Of them, 2568 candidates qualified for Personality Test conducted in Feb-April, 2018
The UPSC examination is held to recruit for posts of Indian nationals in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services (Group A and Group B) and various other government departments.
