The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has formally announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, bringing closure to lakhs of aspirants across the nation. As one of India’s most esteemed and competitive examinations, the declaration has been eagerly awaited by candidates and institutions alike.
A total of 1,009 candidates have been recommended for appointment to a range of prestigious civil services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others. These appointments span across more than 25 elite services under the Central Government, fulfilling over a thousand vacancies.
The category-wise distribution of successful candidates is as follows:
– General: 335
– Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 109
– Other Backward Classes (OBC): 318
– Scheduled Castes (SC): 160
– Scheduled Tribes (ST): 87
The examination cycle commenced with the Preliminary Examination on 16 June 2024, followed by the declaration of its results on 1 July. Candidates who qualified proceeded to the Mains Examination held from 20 to 29 September, the results of which were published in December. Subsequently, 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the Personality Test (Interview) phase, which was conducted in two sessions between 7 January and 17 April 2025 at the UPSC headquarters in New Delhi.
This year, candidates from the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have made an impressive showing, earning accolades for their outstanding ranks. Leading the cohort is Sai Shivani, who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 11, closely followed by Banna Venkatesh with AIR 15. Other distinguished performers from the region include:

In response to the remarkable performance, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Revenue, Registration, and Stamps, Mr Anagani Satyaprasad, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all successful candidates from the region. He made special mention of the top performers, Sai Shivani and Banna Venkatesh, praising their dedication and offering his personal commendations.
Minister Satyaprasad expressed confidence in the abilities of the newly selected officers, stating his hope that they will undergo their training with commitment and go on to serve the nation with integrity and distinction.
