The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday launched a new Online Application Portal (OAP) designed to streamline the application process for candidates and create a unified record system for all UPSC examinations.
According to an official statement, the new portal is expected to significantly reduce application time by allowing candidates to complete essential steps in advance. The Commission has urged applicants to use their Aadhaar Card as the ID document during the registration process. This will enable “easy, effortless and seamless verification and authentication of identity,” creating a permanent and common profile usable across all exams.
The portal comprises four sections:
- Account Creation
- Universal Registration
- Common Application Form
- Examinations
The first three sections are common to all exams and can be completed by candidates at any time, well in advance of specific exam notifications.
“This arrangement will allow candidates to fill in the preliminary details at their convenience and be ready to apply as soon as any UPSC exam is notified, reducing delays and avoiding last-minute rush,” the UPSC said.
All applications must now be submitted through the new portal at https://upsconline.nic.in. The previous one-time registration system has been discontinued.
