WhatsApp is developing a translation feature to help users communicate across languages, currently in beta testing for Android. The feature, which will work offline, uses pre-downloaded language packs to ensure privacy, processing translations entirely on the user’s device. Users can choose to translate messages manually or enable automatic translations for all chats and updates. While offline translations may not be perfectly accurate, they aim to make cross-language communication easier without compromising security. The feature is expected to roll out after further testing, but no official release date has been announced.
